- President Garcia has recommended several changes to the NEA RA in Houston. The open hearings will be online, there will be one election day instead of two and the commercial expo will be eliminated. The Community Ally category will be back on the ballot.
- Reporting forms 1 and 3 have been issued by the State to meet the requirements of HB1413 due in November. A preliminary injunction has been filed in connection to the lawsuit against HB1413.
- Fall RA packets are available online for delegates.
- The Kansas City Legislative Forum will be January 31, 2019.
- NEA Minority Leadership Training will be held Dec. 7-9, 2018 in San Diego, CA.
- NEA Leadership Summit will be held Mar.15-17 in Denver, CO.
- NEA ESP Conference will be held Mar. 22-24 in Las Vegas, NV.
- MNEA Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Day of Service” Program will be held Jan. 20, St. Louis. Reg Weaver will be the keynote speaker. Donations of socks, underwear, and canned goods are appreciated.
- MNEA recommended candidates and issues are listed on the website. NEA has provided a new tool that will link members to their polling place and recommended candidates, Educationvotes.nea.org/vote
- The Clean Missouri campaign has yard signs available at MNEA regional offices. Educators for Claire and Educators for Clean yard signs will be available at regional offices next week.
