We will be developing a new delegate handbook for the MNEA RA. It will be similar to the NEA RA handbook.

NEA Directors Report:
At the NEA-RA there will be a Constitution Amendment brought to the RA to create a new membership category called "Friend of Education."
Executive Director Report:
MNEA is the driving force behind the CLEAN ballot initiative. It addresses ethic reform, campaign finance reform and redistricting.
People are gathering signatures for the Right to Work petition.
Legislative Report:
The governor has called an Extraordinary Session to begin May 22. The session has been called to deal with a utility issue but other issues may be brought up. Watch the legislative update for more information.
State Board Report:
The state legislature cut 4 million dollars from the assessment budget. This is the same amount that it costs to administer the ACT. DESE is trying to negotiate a lower cost with ACT. The Board recommended a continuation of the Normandy Schools Collaborative Joint Executive Governing Board.
